Not long ago on a random Thursday morning without any pending deadlines at work approaching and under a gorgeous summer sky, I decided to head up to Chicago Botanic Gardens on nothing more than a whim. Visiting the gardens has been on my List of 100 Dreams. With no other impetus but a desire to ‘make it happen’ and to spend some time with my camera, I hopped in my car for the 45 minute drive each way.
I’ve shared a few photos here. But honestly, I decided to make a little Instagram ode to my day and will be sharing my favorite photos on Instagram over the course of the next several days. If you’re not already following, be sure to stop over and follow along to see my absolute favorites!
Lastly, don’t forget to make some time to do something for yourself soon, maybe even today. It’s so important to make time for ourselves. It may not be an all-morning trip to a flower garden for you, but surely there’s something on your wish list you can accomplish or start to attack.
Go for it!

Beautiful photos! It's been too long since I did something like this for myself. I think this week is a good time to get back to it :)
