Often, and especially on Fridays, I find myself wanting an easy transition from “home with The Little Guy” to “out with friends” so I do my best to plan my outfit in such a way that I can switch up just one or two pieces to change the look to work for both occasions. Here, I relied on a pure white palette (a new avenue for me and my first pair of white pants ever). A very easy modification from a cardigan to a boyfriend blazer (and maybe flats to heels depending on what the night looks like), and I am ready for a night out with friends. I surely understand white pants AND a white shirt while home with a toddler may have been a crazy (or brave) choice when I dressed myself this morning. But the white washed look made it through the day unscathed.
On a side note, I thrifted this Banana Republic blazer (in pristine condition) while visiting my parents a few weeks ago. Its former owner probably stocked it in their business casual / suit section. But being just the tiniest bit large on me, rolled up sleeves gave a more casual boyfriend blazer look, something for which I had searched for quite some time and loved finding at a great price.
