True that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. According to me, this jacket is pretty darn sweet! And since I’m the one that has to wear it, I suppose that’s all that matters, right? I had spotted another version of this jacket and added it to my wish list. I loved it’s neutral, casual, “wear with anything” look. Yet it added character to just about any outfit, unlike so many of my other “uber functional” coats that are required to survive Chicago’s “lovely” seasons. (I’m talking to you Winter!)
Not only did I love the jacket, but I knew it would be perfect for our upcoming trip to Switzerland.
While shopping with T (I live WAY too close to some major shopping districts), I stumbled upon this jacket at Aritzia. I tried on the jacket, wavered for a bit (and by bit, I mean less than 5 minutes) because it was a little more expensive than I had hoped to spend, and…caved. I haven’t bought myself a new jacket in over a year, and I knew this would get tons of use. I love that the waist cinches to add some shape to the jacket and the hood is large enough to actually be functional if needed.
I know you’ll be seeing more of this bad boy in future posts.
Update: The jacket was absolutely perfect for our trip to Switzerland. And it proved perfect for keeping me warm in the somewhat cool and damp weather we encountered throughout much of our trip. You can read all about our mountainous Uetliberg climb, our trip to the top of Mount Pilatus, the perfect stairs on our search for Swiss chocolate and our meandering through Zurich, and the gelato we ate all too often.
