Every feel like you have trouble finding a few minutes for yourself? With all that we schedule in our lives, it can sometimes get a little crazy trying to squeeze in a few minutes to focus on ourselves. Today I’m steering clear of the clothing aisle to take a stroll through the beauty section and discuss a bit about finding a great spa service, which will help us achieve that desired working woman style beyond just what we’re wearing.I’m a habitual nail destroyer (my own, that is – picking, biting, you name it). I’m on a mission to change that and make 2015 the year I finally have nails clean and finished enough to be presentable. I honestly think having nicely manicured nails (whether it’s done professionally or at the comfort of your own kitchen table) helps complete a polished and professional look at the office.
A few weeks ago, on a cold Sunday night, I got entirely fed up with my cracking and peeling nails for which I’m sure I had the weather to thank and my habitual destruction, no doubt. It doesn’t help that I find it hard with little kiddos to create a long enough period of uninterrupted time to let my nails dry should I paint them at home. So on Monday morning, from the comfort of my desk, I logged into Pretty Quick and scheduled an appointment for a quick manicure just a couple blocks from my office. I hadn’t used the service before but am really happy I took the time to try it!
Pretty Quick, a beauty appointment scheduling site effectively, connects women looking for high quality beauty services with top-quality, vetted salons in the area. With just a few clicks, you can schedule an appointment at one of many salons in your area. It’s much easier than calling them all to find out what’s available.
Scheduling & Ease of Use
I found the site very easy to use. They have an app as well that’s also quite simple. Overall, my experience turned out great. I had a bit of trouble with my first scheduling attempt, which I think resulted from the salon not having any openings for me. The confirmation process took a while initially, but I think in general it’s pretty quick (no pun intended). Here’s what happened.
At 9:30 am, I initially tried to book an appointment for 10:00 am. I didn’t get a confirmation by 9:45 am when I would have had to leave my desk, so I canceled that pending request and tried to book an appointment for noon instead. The system confirmed within a couple of minutes that the salon was full.
I tried another salon nearby (actually closer and the one I should have selected in the first place), and within seconds I had a confirmed appointment. I guess it just depends on which salon you select. Since then, I’ve had two more appointments and scheduling was a breeze. I requested my appointment in about 30 seconds and had confirmation immediately.
Needless-to-say, it’s probably worthwhile to schedule an appointment at least an hour or so in advance to prevent any delayed confirmation hang-ups. I’d hate to waste precious office hours trekking to the salon only to find out they didn’t have my requested time available.
Payment for Appointments
Pretty Quick’s involvement in the payment process really made my experience great. You know the frustration of clumsily fumbling through your bag to pay for your manicure and then gather the appropriate cash tip while either sitting in your chair with nails half finished or trying not to smudge your newly painted nails? Pretty Quick took that whole uncomfortable step out of the transaction, and I love it! Pretty Quick retains your credit card information and pays the vendor directly, including tip in most cases. I loved not having to even carry my wallet or bag to the nail salon.
