My white tweed blazer returns with a vengeance classing up a much more casual look. I wore this outfit my very last day of work before maternity leave and taking a weekend with my parents in town to prepare for the arrival of our second child. (Although I visited a client, the client has a very casual dress code and I took the liberty of wearing jeans despite this not being in compliance with company policy…exactly. But I knew the client wouldn’t care at all, and I could get away with it being almost nine months pregnant. Piece of advice for those still navigating their way through corporate dress codes ~ don’t follow my lead today. Stick to the rules as it’s a much safer option, and we certainly wouldn’t want to be botching good performance records with poor attire choices.) I did dress up my jeans, however, with my outfit template and even got a little ambitious by brightening up the look with my colorful scarf I scored from The Salvation Army a couple of weeks ago.
But moving along, this is also my last maternity wear post (sort of). Any of you who have had a baby know that the baby bump doesn’t disappear over night. I set myself up with the expectation that “what took nine months to gain will take nine months to lose,” and it wasn’t far off from reality on my first go-around. Let’s hope the second time goes as well, and I can work my way back to my pre-baby body. Now I can share my post-partum, maternity leave style before heading back to the office in mid-July.
