For my first go at the 7 x 7 remix challenge, I kept things SUPER simple. Although I think the “rules” allow for unlimited use of accessories, I stuck with a simple pair of earrings and necklace for all of my outfits. Each of these get-ups could be easily dressed up with a scarf or statement necklace, aside from the purple top. And a wrist full of arm candy could certainly add a nice pop as well to any of the combinations. But I picked seven outfits that would work for me on a day home with T. And at a year old (tomorrow!), he would rip off any necklace or bracelet in no time. He’s also teething like crazy and has the arm of a quarterback, so he would quickly destroy a scarf with boatloads of drool or the remnants of his lunch tossed in my direction. Add your favorite accessories to a look here and make the look “yours”. Because the looks are so simple, I don’t think they need much explaining, but I have included them one by one after the break.
Lessons learned from my first 7×7 rodeo:
- Use Accessories!
- Focus on one color scheme to increase remix options.
- Select a few pieces with patterns to spice up the looks.
- Pick tops that can be worn tucked or not tucked. This adds great versatility.
- A dress would have been a nice addition.
