Because really, who wouldn’t?
Because really, who wouldn’t?! I mean, what’s not to love about wearing fleece lined (basically) sweat pants to the office that somehow the fashion world decided were acceptable at work? I definitely have the athleisure trend to thank for this comfortable and cozy day at my desk. I also have a bit of a ‘bad-ass’ spring in my step because wearing these bad boys definitely wanders into the gray area of what’s acceptable at work and what doesn’t make the grade.
Pushing the Envelope
For those of you in creative or more casual work environments, joggers with heels and a blazer might be old hat. In my very conservative industry in a more conservative firm based in the conservative Midwest, however, you know where I’m headed. I’m pushing the envelope with these things, and loving it!
Making My Pantalones “Me”
As of late, I’ve been having a bit of fun challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things that don’t feel forced but aren’t the pieces I’ve been buying for years. I certainly don’t want to sacrifice my integrity. I actually wore this exact outfit to the office and plan to sport these pantalones at the office again. I also wore my new oxfords on my first day back to work after the new year, like a little kid wearing their new school clothes on the first day back to class.
Back to Class Pinterest
Instead of being drawn to the oxfords and joggers in the store, then shyly walking away and purchasing something more standard, I’ve gone with my gut and made the investment. In both instances, I saw the oxfords and joggers in magazines and on blogs. I really liked them but never thought they’d work for me. None-the-less, I started pinning to Pinterest some outfits with these pieces that were paired with things similar to pieces I already owned. After I gathered enough options that would make these items a realistic and valuable contributor to my closet, I put them on the bottom of my wishlist and passively kept a watchful eye open for the perfect pair and pounced when I found them.
Figuring out how to incorporate these pieces in my existing wardrobe proved a bit of a challenge, but one I’ve enjoyed! Remember how I shared an entire series about using Pinterest to Remix Your Wardrobe? Consider exploring new trends another way I use Pinterest to develop my personal style.

Who’s the new popular kid in your closet?
Have you made any fun, new purchases recently that won your heart over by stretching your personal style to new places? Or maybe you’ve got a piece over which you’ve been pining and excitedly await the moment when the perfect option lands in front of your wallet? What new styles are you hoping to try in the near future?
For this week’s feature, I channeled the blazer and cropped pants vibe and chose Osy from Style Diary by Osy. It’s not quite Valentine’s Day, though red seems to be everywhere, and I love how she’s styled it.
