Take a peek at your wardrobe. Is your closet filled with colors? Or do you prefer more neutral blacks, brown, grays and creams?
Maybe it’s different than it was in the past? Maybe it’s a good mix of all those options?
There’s no perfect style color palette (obviously). Much depends on the occasion, your personality, your hair and skin tones, and most simply, your preferences. Whatever it is, it should feel comfortable.
My ideal color scheme has changed dramatically over the years. I remember a phase in middle school when my very unstylish self only wore pants and shirts that matched (literally). Today, we’d call that monochromatic, I suppose. But looking back at photos, it just doesn’t look that chic.
I vividly recall a phase a few years after graduating from college when I wore (at least to work) only black with pops of color, mostly jewel-toned. After being “traumatized” by showing up at work one day in pieces that clashed terribly, I stuck to foolproof color combinations for a while.
I still wear a decent amount of color, but I’ve been headed into much more neutral territory lately. I guess you could just call me Switzerland (#lamejoke)
Today’s outfit provides a perfect example of mixing a whole bunch of neutrals for an outfit that definitely isn’t boring. In this case, the layers and the varied texture of the boots and the sweater dress add plenty of contract to eliminate the potential “neutral boring” factor.

Then, of course, don’t forget to share your own style. If you’re a blogger, feel free to link up your blog. Not a blogger? You can even share an Instagram post, and I bet many of you have Instagram accounts. Looking forward to seeing all your share!
