- 1/2 – 3/4 yards of knit fabric
- thread, needle
- sewing machine (optional)
- I chose to use a soft knit fabric I purchased from the clearance section at JoAnn’s. Were in not on sale or in the clearance section, I definitely would have used a 40% off coupon. Because I used a knit fabric and knits don’t fray, I didn’t need to hem the edges which wouldn’t really be showing when I wore it anyway.
- I have made several of these scarves and the size of the fabric depends on how bulky you’d like the scarf to be when you wear it and how bulky the fabric itself is. For thinner or lighter fabrics, I have opted to purchase 3/4 yards of fabric to help give it a bit more volume when I wear the scarf. Heavier fabrics, however, have allowed me to purchase only 1/2 yard.
