Fashion turns quickly sometimes and, in the blink of an eye, the seventies are back. I’d like to say it’s a quick turn around. But the seventies were just before my time, and I’m getting sort of old (?) so maybe it’s not such a speedy return to flares and fringe and everything fabulous.
Long ago or not, flared jeans had another day in the limelight just a few years ago. They took a few years off in the back of our closets and… they’re back, in full force. It’s been a growing trend but certainly one you’re probably seeing in stores.
Fresh from the thrift store, I styled these designer jeans with a thrifted blazer and Everlane tank for an updated take on casual Friday. It’s only Thursday, but I can look forward to Friday and the subsequent weekend, no?
If those flares are collecting dust in your closet, pull them out and clean them up. Slip into them on Friday and pair with some fun heels and a blazer. Just be sure they’re long enough. Short flared pants are… just not that cool (at least in my opinion, for whatever that’s worth).
P.S. Did I mention this year’s fall style loves a good pop of poppy? I love this color too, so I’m riding it out full throttle.
