For a recent casual Friday outfit, I absolutely loved the look that Mary from The Classy Cubicle put together a couple of months back. I pinned the lovely look to my Pinterest board at the time (where I store all my great ideas and appreciation for others’ great ideas, as the case may be) knowing I would return to my collection down the road.
So today, I share with you how I took a spin on Mary’s outfit with pieces already in my closet. It’s certainly not an exact imitation – I don’t have a striped shirt with graphic red design on it (although I am considering making one following Merrick’s tutorial) nor do I have red flats. I suppose I could have swapped in my red heels but I wanted something comfortable for the day so flats reigned supreme. I replaced the red design on the shirt with a red necklace and the bright flats with printed flats. All in all, I’m pretty pumped about how the outfit turned out and thank Mary for her generous idea! Today, I may be a style “thief” but in the world of fashion, theft is oddly a compliment and not an insult. Maybe one day I’ll inspire something Mary wears, but for now, given her amazing polish, I expect it’s a one way street.
