A week or so ago, Liz from Sprinkles and Sequins posed a few questions about my style and preferences. Although I share about my daily outfits regular, I decided to share a bit more about some of my professional style favorites (and seasonal favorites) today.
Q: What is your favorite season?
A: I definitely love fall the best (so now was a great time to ask)! I love the flavors of fall (caramel apples from this orchard near my parents’ house and pumpkin desserts – especially pumpkin bread and these pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I just made again last week).
I also adore the fashion of fall. Layering provides so many options for remixing and using accessories to spice up a simple piece. I can’t get enough of the crisp, refreshing air either. I love that I can walk to work or take The Little Guy to the park in jeans and a sweater without sweating up a storm. I am happy to throw on a leather jacket, a vest, a scarf, or great military jacket – all things that summer heat prohibits and don’t fit well under a winter parka (something that spends far too much time on my back in this town).
Q: What is your favorite fall trend?
A: I enjoy adding all the aforementioned elements to my fall outfits, but I think I love breaking out the boots more than anything. I have several pairs, all in dark browns and blacks, that you can see throughout the Gallery. I can’t wait to debut the brand new cognac pair I bought after many, many months (over a year actually) of searching for the perfect pair. I think I finally found them – pair #1 that I told you about a few weeks ago!
Q: Who is your favorite designer?
A: For some time, I would have told you my favorite designer is Elie Tahari. I think that’s still the case. I love the simple yet sophisticated lines and tailoring that perfect professional style. I did recently share with you my first Kate Spade purchase, and this lovely dress is giving Mr. Tahari a run for his money. However, Tahari sits atop my leader board with three of my currently favorite dresses displaying his name on the tag (in pink, blue, and purple).
Thanks Liz for the questions. That’s a little about me in a nutshell. I love getting reader questions, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions for me. Hope you’re week is starting off well!
