Because I’m such a Pinterest fanatic (and wish I had been so wise to capitalize on such a simple yet brilliant idea), I’m back to share another way I use it’s awesomeness (which I know isn’t a word) to help me stretch my wardrobe and energize my morning dress up routine.

Many months ago, I noticed Ada had repinned several of my pins so I stopped on over to see her collections. Not surprisingly, I found several boards I liked. I pinned the following pin from my feed after Ada posted it on her Dressy Skirts & Dresses board that I follow. Ada is a Pinterest powerhouse posting all sorts of great ideas and looks, many of which end up on my boards as a result of her posting.
I liked this outfit (from Sequins & Stilettos) for it’s color combination. I don’t own a yellow skirt, a violet cardigan, or the exact blouse, but I do own a yellow sweater, a violet skirt, and a blouse with simliar colors and a floral pattern. So following my own guidance from a few weeks back, I took inspiration from the color combination and found a way to make it work with items I already owned. And I have to thank Ada because, without her great pins, I wouldn’t have come across this fun and bright combination.
Unrelated to Pinterest but a close cousin to today’s outfit, this Remix It Up post includes both my cardigan and my blouse and can offer a few more options for remixing similar items. Cheers to having fun getting dressed without maxing out our credit cards (or even leaving our own closets, for that matter)!
I’ve also worn these black flats on many occasions and share about how smitten they made me when I debuted them on the blog. Investing in slightly more expensive shoes (albeit when Cole Haan offered 30% off their sale prices) has been well worth the investment not only for my feet but also my bank account (as I don’t need to replace my shoes as often) and my confidence knowing I feel great in a fantastic pair of shoes.
Cardigan – Banana Republic; Skirt – The Limited; Blouse – LOFT; Shoes – Cole Haan; Necklace – Etsy
I also loved this pin that came through my Pinterest feed from Ada. I hadn’t thought to wear my maxi skirt as a dress, though it’s certainly long enough. But this pin, originally from Bella & Bear, ultimately led to this edition of Remix It Up.
