Update: Since writing this post, Moxie Jean was sold. My current favorite kids resale outlet is ThredUp!
I’m stepping out of my sweet spot today and touching on a sustainable style consideration for the kiddos. Long before I heard about ReDress, I decided my little ones would be “getting redressed” all the time. My boys grow so fast and destroy their clothes in no time, so I’ve never invested much in fancy clothes they would outgrow or ruin in a matter of weeks it seems. Since T was born, I’ve purchased nearly all of his clothes from consignment shops, resale stores, and thrift shops, and honestly, never sacrificed quality.
We all have these brick and mortar shops in our neighborhoods, but hands down, my favorite is an online resale store called Moxie Jean. Shopping with little ones in toe is tough, so I love that I can sit at my computer during nap time and grab some great gear for the boys without schlepping them to and fro. Beyond the convenience, the prices and quality are fantastic and the order arrives in just a matter of days. I bet I’ve purchased 80 percent of T’s clothes from Moxie Jean since he was born.
With the luxury of J being the same gender and being born in nearly the same season, we anticipate a lot of hand-me-downs for the new munchkin, so we haven’t need as much for him regardless of the store from which it’s purchased. But after he outgrows the items, those in good condition can go back to Moxie Jean for cash or store credit (the whole process is truly so easy).
I’ve shared with you some of the awesome outfits and pieces T has worn that I purchased from Moxie Jean, but don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. When quality, convenience, great value, and sustainability combine in a product I have to buy anyway, I can’t be more thrilled to share!
We cook together all the time. He helped me make some tasty Snickers fudge bars in this.
Don’t his pajamas match my shoes perfectly?
I purchased the shirt from Moxie Jean; the pants I made myself from M’s old sweatshirt (tutorial here).
