So far, I’ve shared my perfect outfits for Mother’s Day brunch and Mother’s Day wine (at a winery or a BYOB wine and painting studio). While my mom would enjoy both of these I presume, my mom loves being active. In fact, in thirty years I’m not sure I know if she knows how to sit back and relax. So I think a perfect day to suit her desires would include being outside and active. I am sure she would love a walk through a park or a hike through the woods. I’m not one to “dress up” for an active day, so I think this Lululemon attire would fit the bill for an energetic and fulfilling day amongst Mother Nature. (Even better, the pants and shirt were both gifts from my mom, so of course wearing something she gave me is perfect.)

And on a completely unrelated note to hiking, but all too spot on for motherhood, we finally got to bring home our new little bundle of joy last week. Several of you have been asking about the little guy, and we haven’t shared much yet about his arrival due to some initial but resolved complications. At two days old, our little one started having some breathing trouble. A seven day stay in the NICU helped him resolve the respiratory infection he developed that was hindering his breathing. We held our breath each day (no pun intended) awaiting his arrival home, and I finally got to carry him in my arms out of the hospital last week – healthy and strong and ready to keep us up all day and night! Before sharing too much, we wanted to be sure we had definitive answers and a healthy baby, and now we have all of those things!
I don’t share many photos of my little ones on the blog; it’s not particularly relevant to the nature of the content and we’ve decided to let them create their own Internet personas down the road if they so desire. But here’s a little peek at the tiny peanut. For now, he spends a lot of time in my arms and we’re settling in to find “the new norm.”
