As I’m sure is the case for many of you, life gets a little crazy sometimes. Managing a family calendar feels like a juggling act. The basket of dirty laundry somehow turns into a three foot deep pile on the floor. Clean laundry never makes it to the drawers but instead sits unfolded for days. Yesterday’s dinner dishes still reside in the sink. And you feel like you haven’t stopped to take a breath in days. Don’t forget the work email keeps pumping through and the little guy still wants to wake up every couple of hours for a quick sip of milk and a hug. I love ya man, but I’d really love some sleep.
Among all the chaos of fast-paced days at the office and jam-packed nights and weekends with the family, it’s often hard to find a few moments for myself. Recently, I shared a few places I find peace of mind to let ideas flow freely and find new ideas in moments of mental peace. Sometimes though, I want something a bit more indulgent. I want a mini “me moment” to just take a little break from life.I want to sit on my lazy butt on the couch and read a magazine. I want to scroll through my favorite blogs and catch up on their latest news. I want to go to a yoga class, a really easy one, where I definitely won’t sweat. And sometimes, my addicted sweet tooth just needs a chocolate fix.
Frequent indulgences in chocolate would kill my health. While I’m not a health nut by any means, I do make a concerted effort to make smarter choices most of the time. As I get creative in how I satiate my sweet tooth (because I’m not intending to overcome it any time soon…), let me share with you my latest and greatest way to opt for a sneaky little alternative to straight up stuffing my face with junk. Enter: Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt.
Inspired by the ever-tempting comfort of ice cream, these three new yogurt flavors from Müller® showcase a lighter side of traditionally dessert-inspired flavors: Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Vanilla Bean. While you might desire to dive into one of these little cups of goodness for a special breakfast or a sweet afternoon snack while you’re out and about, I opted to take them straight to my freezer and make myself some chocolate covered frozen yogurt bites.
I’ll set the scene: I arrive home from work having just picked up my boys from daycare. We get home and everyone is hungry. I would love a sweet little snack, but I don’t really want to share it with my boys (selfish? ehh…) I poke my head in the freezer, snag one little frozen Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt bite, covered in chocolate shavings, and enjoy a few moments of tasty goodness. No boys, no responsibility, just a “me moment” with my sweet treat! And, I’ve curbed my craving without packing on the pounds.
Are you a fan of sweet snacks? You like frozen treats? These little nuggets of perfection couldn’t be any easier to make and secretly stash in your freezer! Simply toss the Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt cup in your freezer and let it set. When frozen, pull it out, grab a melon scoop, and douse that little ball of “yum” in chocolate shavings of your choice. I chose white chocolate shavings for the raspberry chocolate chip yogurt and milk chocolate shavings for the vanilla bean yogurt. Next time, I’d like to add mint chocolate bits to the mint chocolate chip yogurt. But I suppose I shouldn’t get too far ahead of myself.
I picked up my yogurt from the Walmart Neighborhood Market near my office (it was stacked right next to all the other yogurts, as you probably guessed). We don’t exactly have too many full-blown big box stores in downtown, but this store had just what I needed.
Had I searched a little farther, I might have found prepared shaved chocolate. I know they sell that darn stuff. But I didn’t see it during my trip to the store, so I grabbed some chocolate bars and did the dirty work by hand.
Work quickly and place each yogurt bite in the freezer after you’re done preparing it. If you wait too long or let them sit out, your yogurt bites will turn into yogurt puddles.
I had this little bit of frozen yogurt left in the raspberry chocolate chip cup. Obviously I had to eat it! No surprise, it tastes just like frozen yogurt from the mix-your-own frozen yogurt cup shop down the street. It’s only logical that ice cream inspired yogurt residing in the freezer would taste like frozen yogurt, right? They nailed it!
I thought you might want to see the inside, so I took a bite to show you. No really, the bite was for you. Not for me…
When you try this out, let me know what you think. You can pick up select flavors of Müller® yogurt on rollback at Walmart for $0.88 until March and they will be hosting demos of the Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt in select stores on March 14. This is a brand spankin’ new product and you can check out a bunch of other great ways to indulge in Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt here.
