Grow With DoneGood To Do Good For Others

There’s a new browser extension that does all the legwork to help you find more ethical and conscious brands. Read on for all the details about DoneGood.

Thanks to DoneGood for sponsoring this post.

So many well-intentioned plans in life are left unfinished, right? It’s the case for me, and I suspect I’m not alone.

Over the last several years, I’ve been making incremental changes to lead a more conscious lifestyle. From purchasing ethical brands to simply buying less, from being more thoughtful about how I spend my time to how I dispose of my things once they are no longer needed, I have made a concerted effort to be more intentional about my choices.

Truth be told, making more “ethical” decisions can be time-consuming. On many occasions, I feel like I hit dead ends or road blocks because I can’t find a “good” brand when I’m in search of a particular product. One company, however, has been making this road much easier to travel and clearing a lot of the roadblocks: DoneGood.

DoneGood creates technology that make it easy to discover businesses people can feel good about supporting. DoneGood helps you find companies making unique, high-quality products while at the same time empowering workers, preserving the environment and doing good in so many other ways. Most notably, DoneGood offers a browser extension that quickly identifies companies that meet their criteria for conscious consumption.

After installing the extension, which only takes a minute, the extension notifies you when you search companies that are in the DoneGood directory of approved brands. The extension also identifies the type of products for which you are searching and offers alternative ethical brands during the search process. Additionally, DoneGood highlights ethical brands in their periodic emails, offering yet another channel for discovering new brands that fit a conscious ethos.

Until recently, I’ve struggled to find brands that share my values. There are quite a few of them, but they are often hard to find, especially when I am searching for a particular product.  DoneGood, however, has made this much easier.

Companies I’ve Discovered

In Chicago, I purchased many books from a local secondhand bookstore, yet I haven’t found a great alternative in our new town. DoneGood introduced me to Better World Books, an online secondhand bookstore with a really great collection. We are avid library visitors, but I still appreciate having a collection of our own books at home.

I’ve been in search of some particular candles lately, and loved landing on Prosperity Candle, another recommendation from DoneGood. Not only did I find the new company, but DoneGood also offered a 25% discount through their extension. They have many retailers with whom they’ve partnered to offer discounts to those who discover better brands through DoneGood.

This is an example of the list created by the extension when I search my browser for a particular retailer.

It’s A Game Changer

For me, DoneGood had been a game-changer. Even if you’re just dabbling in the conscious consumption arena, adding the DoneGood extension to your browser will introduce you to lots of new and better options for everyday purchases. It is so easy to install and hasn’t felt intrusive when I’m searching online. You’ve really got nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

DoneGood continues to vet and add new companies to their list of brands who are on a mission to make the world a better place. Download the extension and grow your collection of ethical brands you can support with your everyday purchases. Whether you’re just a seedling in the space or you have deeply planted roots in the world of conscious consumption, they’re sure to have new brands to discover.

If you try it, I’d love to hear what new brands find a place in your closet, your house, or your heart!
