Sometimes, my work attire just has to be functional. Today, we hosted an all day conference for over 100 of our clients flying in from around the country. With an overbooked room (some people always end up not showing up), I did not know if I would be sitting or standing in a back corner all day or meandering around throughout the day catching up with all of my clients attending the event. I could not imagine sitting crunched in a chair in a skirt nor standing all day in heels, so I safely relied on pants and flats to best weather whatever the day might bring.
To top off the outfit, no pun intended, I chose this peplum tweed blazer / sweater. I have not yet been brave enough to jump on the peplum train except for this not-so-structured-barely-peplum top. I actually picked it up from Macy’s a few months back while attending a networking event at which their stylists offered fun new ways to professionally dress for a corporate office. I NEVER would have snagged this off a rack, but I loved how it looked on one of the models and decided to give it a ride.
