This manic weather in Chicago has me frequently checking the
weather forecast before deciding what to wear. I dug out the tights on Tuesday and Wednesday for my spins on StyleUp looks to stay warm. 48 hours later my
internal outfit negotiation focused on how to prevent excessive sweating during
my commute because it would be a mere twenty degrees warmer just two days
later. Bigger temperature swings have swung through this city, no doubt. But c’mon
now, this whole summer has thrown me for a major loop!
To stay cool on my commute, I opted for my thrifted Ann Taylor black and blue floral dress. I completed the relatively standard look (sheath, blazer, pumps) with a sweater blazer I received as a gift some years ago. I struggle with the bulk of blazers sometimes because I don’t love adding volume to my shoulders (or anywhere on my body for that matter). The sweater blazer, though, is thinner so it doesn’t create that bulked up look as much. I gravitate toward collarless blazers for the same “less bulky” reason.
