I love the idea of using a black turtleneck as a base for transitioning a host of summer pieces into more winter-friendly items. But I’ll be damned if I can execute it well.
I’ve tried it on occasion, like the day I wore my Missoni dress with a black turtleneck (fail). Many fashion gurus seem to pull this off so easily, yet I can’t seem to make it work right.
Note to self: Add this to list of reasons why I’m certainly NOT a fashion guru!
In any case, I tried again with this outfit and find it “meh.” I actually really like the light gray tights with the black heeled booties, but the top half of the outfit, in my opinion, leaves something to be desired. Live and learn I guess.
The patterned piece is actually a dress I thrifted and refashioned and then remixed several ways for warmer weather. Maybe this dress just wants to hibernate all winter and return to my arsenal when temperatures rise.
In any case, stop on over and see how I else I remixed this dress (today worn as a shirt) and get a good laugh from the ridiculousness that was this dress’ sleeves before I chopped them off. Who ever wore this thing?!
