I love this dress! I love the style, the comfort, the price in conjunction with the high end fabric (thank you Marshall’s), and the fact that this non-maternity piece has held strong through several months of pre-natal belly growth. And because it’s not maternity wear, it will certainly be a great post-natal piece as I patiently wait for my body to return to its normal self.
I snagged this dress along with a couple other pieces last fall (just when I found out I was pregnant) and wanted a few fun additions to the very basic maternity clothing collection I dug out of my closet from the last time I did this drill. Via discount stores and thrift stores, I picked up a couple of dresses to add some energy to my professional attire without breaking the bank to get me through the doldrums of a pregnant Chicago winter.
I had trouble deciding whether I liked the boots or booties better – the booties provided a bit more comfort. In the end, the knee-high boots won the style competition and I wore those for the day. I also brought my comfy brown cardigan to the office (another non-maternity piece I made great use of with this dress and this outfit, among others, over the last year or two) for some added warmth and coziness.
