Under warmer skies (and sleepy hair – what’s the deal with my hair this morning?!), my Calvin Klein shift dress got another chance at stardom with these matching flats and gold accents. I don’t often layer necklaces, but decided to give it a go with this mix. This dress’ first fifteen minutes of fame (at least in my small corner of the massive Internet world) took place earlier this spring before summer’s very belated arrival. In that casting opportunity, it shared the lead role with a bold base of brown, but today it takes the lead role solo. It whispered as it walked off-stage that it was quite happy with its performance.
It did note, however, that it’s supporting cast was not cooperative during hair and makeup. As I have mentioned before, my hair has a mind of its own and I have pretty much succumbed to its determined independence. Sometimes it cooperates. And other days, like today, no hair and make up expert on any stage can tame its stubborn persistence. My last defense…a hair elastic, it’s only predictable weakness. Some mornings, when my hair really won’t cooperate, I reach deep into my arsenal (a.k.a. the dish of bobby pins and hair elastics on my bathroom counter) and give my Superman hair a dose of its Kryptonite. And then it’s relatively under control… at least temporarily.
